She joined shortly after studying English literature at Leeds University and McGill University. She knew from the first day that agenting was the dream job, and Curtis Brown was the ideal company – so she never left! She loves working closely with writers and also with creative talent and storytellers from across the entertainment world to help develop ideas, often from an embryonic stage, and help bring those stories to light.

Steph represents a broad range of writers from debut authors to bestselling brand authors, and is drawn to a variety of genres including thrillers and espionage, book club fiction and romance with a twist, gothic stories, horror and dark humour. On the non-fiction side, Steph is drawn to smart thinking and big ideas books as well as politics. She’s also keen to work with experts in their fields, as well as journalists who are exploring topics through a unique lens.

She’s on the hunt for commercial upmarket writing that is powerful and cinematic, but feels different and fresh. She wants to read a story that feels unlike anything encountered before. A gripping plot is necessary, as well as a strong voice across all genres. Anything effortlessly quick-witted and funny, or with memorable characters.

Steph is not currently looking to take on any Children's picture book projects at this time, and is only taking on a small number of Children's projects, in general.

Steph enjoys the unexpected and books which explore family relationships and dynamics with a lightness of touch like the works of Liane Moriarty and Taffy Brodesser-Akner . At the moment she’s particularly interested in compelling stories with Jewish themes and politics of the US and the Middle East.

Her clients include Bella Mackie, Harriet Evans, Sahil Bloom, Deesha Philyaw, Tom Fletcher, Greg James, Cynthia Murphy, and Francesca Simon.

{"http://www.curtisbrowncreative.co.uk/writing-school/":"Writing for Children Courses","http://www.curtisbrown.co.uk/agent/children-young-adult-books":"Children's & Young Adult Books","https://childrensliteraryagent.wordpress.com/":"Stephanie's Blog

87058":
"700x373":"/media/4681482d-450c-4b6d-8f25-55ca5101b316/show/700x373","262x140":"/media/4681482d-450c-4b6d-8f25-55ca5101b316/show/262x140
/media/4681482d-450c-4b6d-8f25-55ca5101b316/show/square","700x700":"/media/4681482d-450c-4b6d-8f25-55ca5101b316/show/700x700","328x328":"/media/4681482d-450c-4b6d-8f25-55ca5101b316/show/328x328","139x139":"/media/4681482d-450c-4b6d-8f25-55ca5101b316/show/139x139","73x73":"/media/4681482d-450c-4b6d-8f25-55ca5101b316/show/73x73
/media/4681482d-450c-4b6d-8f25-55ca5101b316/show/vertical","600x732":"/media/4681482d-450c-4b6d-8f25-55ca5101b316/show/600x732","300x360":"/media/4681482d-450c-4b6d-8f25-55ca5101b316/show/300x360","650x650":"/media/4681482d-450c-4b6d-8f25-55ca5101b316/show/650x650"}}}}
