Currently I am not open to submissions until the end of 2026.\u00a0 However, I will be especially on the look-out for thrillers (fast & clever, think Bourne Identity<\/i>, I Am Pilgrim<\/i>, Gillian McAllister books), horror (everything! Stephen King to Point Horror <\/i>series to dark scary academia to ghost stories \u2013 nothing is off-limits) and very moving contemporary love stories, probably not speculative unless it is a very light touch. I would love to find some zippy commercial romances (of all and any sexual orientation); it might be sports romance, mafia romance, thriller romance \u2026 hit me with it! I long for a meatier Heated Rivalry<\/i> with girls for example.<\/b><\/p>

As an agent, I represent the author<\/b>, not just the book! my driving motivation is to nurture and grow each and every one of my authors, whether debut or already established authors who started their careers elsewhere. I\u2019m lucky to work with an agency that offers every resource to our client, meaning authors have very hands-on day to day commitment from me, but with the widespread advantages that a large agency has to offer including amazing reach in the US and internationally.<\/i><\/div>
\u00a0 I represent an eclectic and talented list of authors, varying from on-topic commercial women's fiction to beautifully lyrical literary fiction. I represent a very wide-spread range of genres; from love stories, to books about magic and witches, to crime and thrillers, as well as historical fiction. I look after a number of successful authors whom I have nursed through from their debut novels, several through to the Sunday Times bestseller list and Richard & Judy book club picks as well as various prize lists. I am very proud to represent several Curtis Brown Creative alumni, such as Kate Hamer<\/a>, Wendy Joseph KC<\/a>, Rachel Marks<\/a>, Fran Quinn<\/a>, Anna Bailey<\/a>, Alex Hay<\/a> and Catherine Bennetto<\/a>. An especial highlight was being the first to discover Jane Harper through Curtis Brown Creative, and representing her first four books in the UK. It is a privilege to work with authors from the earliest of days. One of the very best things about my job is editing with authors to get their book from a great place to something superstar \u2013 I take real pride in working hand in hand with authors.<\/div>
I also love to take on authors with well-established careers who may feel in need of a fresh pair of eyes. Working with authors to revitalise their career is immensely satisfying, and great fun too.<\/div>
I am the judge for the Caledonia Novel Award 2027<\/a>, which is being sponsored by the Curtis Brown Group. I was previously the judge for the Caledonia Novel Award 2026<\/a>, the\u00a0Caledonia Novel Award 2025<\/a> and the\u00a0Caledonia Novel Award 2022<\/a>.<\/div>
